Mount Marathon | Limited Edition Watercolor Print | Signed by Artist [WAITLIST]
Mount Marathon Limited Edition Print [WAITLIST]
The Story Behind the Art:
There is a quiet clarity that can only be found at the limit of exhaustion. This upcoming limited-edition piece is the ambitious goal of an extreme plein air painting experience on the brutally steep slopes of Seward, Alaska. Straddling the line between athletic endurance and creative reflection, artist Max Romey is carrying his art supplies straight into the unpredictable elements of this year’s Fourth of July race. With wet trail conditions and high humidity expected, the mountain terrain promises to be incredibly slippery—demanding absolute focus from both racer and artist alike.
As the runners scramble past, Max is painting LIVE [LIVESTREAM LINK] on the mountainside—battling shifting weather, loose terrain, and the ticking clock of a race in motion. The final artwork won't just be an image of Mount Marathon; it will be a living imprint of the day itself. Every brushstroke will reflect the raw, immediate reality of Alaska's most iconic footrace, offering a space to pause and contemplate the profound relationship between human determination and the ancient peaks we climb.
