Inspired by the sketches in his late grandmother’s sketchbooks, artist and filmmaker Max Romey retraces her travels to the remote beaches of Katmai Alaska with Ocean Plastics Recovery. There he joins a group of marine debris experts and discovers there's a lot of people making footprints on Katmai without ever visiting.

Pile of used, dirty shoes and sandals on the ground near a blue surface.
A person sitting on a rocky beach holding a blue Croc shoe, with an open notebook showing a drawing of the same shoe and a footprint, next to the person’s brown rain boots. The scene includes rocks, water, and a cloudy sky.
A landscape photo of a large body of water with a small white boat or ship in the middle, a lush green shoreline, and snow-capped mountains under a partly cloudy sky.
A man wearing sunglasses, a cap, and an orange life jacket stands on a boat holding the steering wheel, with snow-capped mountains in the background.
